Sonim XP8

The Sonim XP8 was announced in April 2018 and released in May 2018, featuring a robust build with dimensions of 152 x 79.5 x 18 mm and a weight of 335 g. The device incorporates an IP69 rating for dust tightness and water resistance against high pressure jets, along with MIL-STD-810G certification, and supports a Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM configuration. Its display is a 5.0-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (16:9 ratio) protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, offering a screen-to-body ratio of approximately 57.0%.

Under the hood, the phone runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) powered by the Qualcomm SDM630 Snapdragon 630 chipset with an Octa-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and Adreno 508 GPU. Storage options include 64GB of internal memory paired with 4GB RAM, expandable via a microSDXC slot. The camera system consists of a 12 MP rear camera with PDAF, LED flash, HDR, and panorama features capable of recording 1080p@30fps video, while the front shooter is an 8 MP sensor also supporting 1080p@30fps video. Power is provided by a removable Li-Ion 4900 mAh battery supporting 18W wired charging with QC4, and connectivity covers GSM / CDMA / HSPA / EVDO / LTE networks, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, FM radio, and USB Type-C 2.0 with a magnetic connector, alongside sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer.
